How to Share Christ During COVID-19

In the midst of COVID-19 and our current situation, we want to provide you with some ideas on how to evangelize.

My pastor once said "Man can go 40 days without water, 4 days without food, 4 minutes without oxygen, but it’s hard to live 4 seconds without hope."


There is fear and doubts and questions, and people are face-to-face with their mortality, there’s a certain fear of death.


That sense of mortality and the reality of death and things out of their control makes them more interested in spiritual answers and answers about eternity.


The Lord uses things like this pandemic to awaken people.


Remember 9/11, all of a sudden people saw a vulnerability and the reality of their mortality and the imminence of death being beyond their control, and there was a new openness to, “Am I ready to die?”


However,  as Christians, we have hope, peace, and the answers to death that our friends, family, and neighbors are looking for. 


These scriptures remind us...


"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28


Jesus said in John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."


Paul said "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." Philippians 1:21


There has never been a better time to witness and share Christ than now. So with that in mind, here are some ideas to reach our friends, family, and neighbors.

These are opportunities that you can do to open the door to share Christ and the gospel.

SERVING OTHERS

You can offer to serve your neighbors by:


  • Mowing their lawn: Mow your neighbors’ lawn, pick weeds or do some yard work for them. 

  • Going to the Hardware Store: Go to Lowe’s, Home Depot, or Wal-Mart for someone, especially now that people at quarantined at home, many people are fixing up their yards/homes. 

  • Cook a Meal: Prepare a meal or simply bake some chocolate chip cookies and deliver it to someone who could use a blessing.

  • Walk their Dog: Take their dog for a walk


    • After serving them, tell them about Jesus and why you did this.

    GIVE GIFTS

    You can give gifts like:


  • Give a Gift Bag :Make a gift bag with things like hand sanitizers, gift cards, or candy. Put a Cross Penny from Heaven and a gospel tract like the Million Dollar Bill  inside and leave them at people's doors. 


  • Give Food: Order food or purchase groceries for those who can’t afford them/or can’t get out of their homes. Deliver to their door and tell them you’re serving them because of the love of Jesus. 


  • Gift Cards: Give a Chic-fil-a, Starbucks or McDonalds gift card and tape a Cross Penny from Heaven Card to it. Leave it in neighbors’ mailboxes or on their doors. 

    • SEND NOTES

    You can send notes of encouragement:


  • Write a Note: Write a note with a prayer or some scripture to friends, family or your neighbors. Include a 2020 cross penny or gospel tract. Mail it, leave it in their mailbox,  or tape it to their door.

  • Use Chalk : Use chalk with your kids to write encouraging messages on your driveway for the neighborhood. Have kids write “Jesus loves you” or “We are praying for you” in chalk on the sidewalk. 

  • Mail a Card: You can send a just thinking of you card, birthday card, greeting card, sympathy card, Christmas card, etc. and include a cross penny from heaven with scripture or a gospel tract.

    • That’s it—hopefully these ideas will spark some creative ways for you to start sharing the gospel and make someone's day!
