We all desire to know and live out our purpose in life. God built into us a longing to know why we are here and to fulfill the mission only we can accomplish. This is a natural part of the human experience, and one ordained by God.
As we get older, we can begin to feel increasing pressure to discern what our purpose is so that we can begin on the road to fulfilling it. You may ask yourself, “How do I find my purpose?” That’s the question we’re going to dive into together.
While we can be eager to begin the path to our purpose, we must always trust in God’s timing above our own. There are times when we are doing all the right things, and all we have to do is wait.
Patience can be challenging, but it is also a time for growth. God will use that time to help draw you closer to Him, which in turn will prepare you even further for your purpose.
Even when it seems as if all you’re doing is waiting, God is still molding you in the meantime.
Habakkuk was a prophet, and being a prophet, his purpose was to relay messages from the Lord. As Habakkuk was waiting for the fulfillment of that promise, God reassured him.
There is no replacement in the life of a Christian for daily time in God’s Word.
The Bible is the manual for our lives, written by our Creator. Through it, He reveals His purpose for our lives.
Time spent in the Bible is time spent with God, as we bring Him our thoughts, questions, and concerns.
He speaks to us through the words of the Bible, showing us the way He would have us go.
The Bible is the backbone of our faith, one of the crucial ways in which God directs our lives. Let it occupy your thoughts day and night as it transforms you from the inside out.
Alongside Bible reading, prayer is a quintessential discipline of the Christian faith. Prayer is how we speak to God and develop that personal, intimate connection with Him.
Through prayer, we can share with Him all of our innermost feelings, thoughts, and desires. In turn, He speaks to us. As you converse with Him, He will reveal things to you that will point you toward your purpose.
God is happy to talk to you at any time and He desires nothing more than to guide you along the path He has prepared for you.
All you have to do is seek God and ask Him what His will for your life is!
Another way that we learn about God’s purpose for our life is to engage in the Christian community and try out different ministry opportunities!
By serving in different areas of the church, we can discern where our strengths and spiritual gifts are. Understanding where God has put your talents will help you to understand where His purpose for you is.
God has given us each the special gifts we have for a reason. He programmed you for a purpose, one only you can fulfill!
God wants to reveal your purpose to you. All you have to do is turn toward Him and focus on the relationship you have together.
Through that relationship, He’ll lead you down the path He’d have you walk. It’s NEVER too late to find and start walking in your purpose.
Do not let age be an obstacle on your journey of fulfilling your God -given destiny.
