Why Should I Share my Faith with Others?

Fulfilling the Great Commission

Jesus gave His followers a clear command to share the good news with others.

In Matthew 28:19-20, He says, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."

By sharing our faith, we fulfill the Great Commission and participate in God's redemptive plan for humanity.

Remember that the Great Commission was a command from Jesus Himself, NOT a suggestion.

Sharing our faith is an expectation of us as God’s children. God desires that all would come to know Him and share in His love, and we have a huge role to play in that vision.

We should be delighted to be part of God’s plan for the redemption of the world.

It’s crucial that we realize that isn’t the case! By sharing our faith with someone else, we are loving them and opening a door that can change the rest of their life for the better.

Bringing Hope to the Lost

The world is filled with people who are lost and searching for meaning and purpose in life.

Romans 10:14-15 reminds us, "How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent?"

By sharing our faith, we become instruments of God's grace, bringing hope to the lost and pointing them towards the source of true fulfillment and eternal life.

2 Corinthians 5:20 says, "We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God."

As ambassadors for Christ, we have the privilege of representing Him to the world and proclaiming His message of reconciliation and salvation.

Sharing our faith with others is a calling and a responsibility that we carry as followers of Christ.

It's a way for us to fulfill the Great Commission, express gratitude for God's love, demonstrate love for others, bring hope to the lost, strengthen our own faith, and participate in God's kingdom work.
